Bronchiectasis – Differential Diagnosis

Bronchiectasis: Diffuse dilation of the bronchi (DDB). Will see abnormally large airways persisting into the periphery of the lung CT, hx of recurrent sinusitis or pneumonia.
BRONCHIECTASYS:
Bronchial cyst
Recurrent aspiration
Or foreign body
Necrotizing pneumonia
Cystic fibrosis
HIV/hypogammaglobulinemia
Immotile cilia
Eosinophilic disease
Cilia disease
Tuberculosis
Allergies or Asthma
Streptococcal pneumonia
Young’s syndrome (azoospermia with recurrent sinusitis)
Staphylococcal pneumonia
