Acute Kidney Injury Differential Diagnosis

ACUTE RENAL FAILURE DDX:

PRERENAL:
volume depletion, hypotension, RAS, meds (NSAIDs, ACEI), emboli/thrombus/dissection
INTRINSIC:
Vascular:  vasculitis, thromboembolic, HUS/TTP, RAS
Glomerular:  autoimmune, infection, genetic (nephritic vs. nephrotic)
Tubular/Interstitial:  acute interstitial nephritis, toxin, PCKD, sarcoid, Sjogren’s, reflux nephropathy, toxin- or drug-induced.
POSTRENAL:
Obstructive:  BPH, catheter, tumor, strictures
Neurogenic bladder
